Hmmmm, where do I begin…
I will say that the visuals looked great and I guess the acting was fine. I didn’t know what to expect story-wise going into this film but I was excited for the music. I heard that Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff worked with Anne Hathaway to create the music for the film, at least the songs she’d be singing, so I was hyped. I was very disappointed. The music was mid at best and only one track was mildly enjoyable. For a film about a musician, you’d think they’d put more effort into the music.
As for the plot, I left the showing thinking: What was the point? I guess the film explores the relationship between a musician (Anne Hathaway) and her former stylist (Michaela Cole) and how people can ghost their friends instead of discussing issues that they may have. Idk. Maybe the film wasn’t for me but I’m not sure who it’s for.
